This species, *Nepenthes reinwardtiana*, is notable for its unusually wide altitudinal range, allowing it to thrive as both a lowland and a highland plant. It is easily recognizable by the distinctive 'eye spots' found on the inside surface of its pitchers.

The species exhibits many different color forms, ranging from green to dark red. It is characterized by two distinct 'eye spots' on the inside surface of its pitchers.
Distribution & habitat
Native to Borneo and Sumatra, as well as surrounding islands including Bangka, Natuna, Nias, and Siberut. It has a wide altitudinal distribution of 0–2,200 m.
History & etymology
The specific epithet reinwardtiana honors Caspar Georg Carl Reinwardt.
