Nepenthes *bongso* is a tropical pitcher plant endemic to Sumatra. It is known for its association with the Indonesian legend of Putri Bungsu, the spirit guardian of Mount Marapi.

Distribution & habitat
This species is endemic to Sumatra, Indonesia. It has a wide altitudinal distribution, growing between 1000 and 2700 meters above sea level.
History & etymology
The species was formally described by Pieter Willem Korthals in his 1839 monograph, "Over het geslacht Nepenthes." The specific epithet *bongso* refers to the Indonesian legend of Putri Bungsu, which translates to 'youngest daughter.'
