Distribution & habitat
Endemic to the Titiwangsa Range in Peninsular Malaysia, found at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 2,100 meters above sea level.
Ecology
It grows terrestrially amongst stunted ericaceous forest, or epiphytically on moss-covered trees or Spaghnum-moss covered earth banks. It is common at its type locality, particularly in the extensive mossy forest of the upper reaches.
History & etymology
The species name, *berbulu*, is derived from the Malay words 'ber-' (meaning 'having') and 'bulu' (meaning 'hair'), referencing the fleshy bristles on the lower surface of the pitcher lid.
