The correct scientificname of this item isNepenthes spectabilis x mirabilis var. globosa.We are always delighted at how beautiful hybrids with N. ‘Viking’ can become as they mature. As the photos and videos hereshow, this item is exceptionally lovely, combining the red-striped peristome and speckled pitcher body ofNepenthes spectabiliswith the pink-hued gradation and wide fringed wings ofNepenthes‘Viking’. Hybrids don’t always take on the best characteristics of both parent species, but this one certainly does!History:First introduced in May 2022.Origin:Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics. The female parent is a selected clone of the superbly spectacular giant form ofNepenthes. spectabilis, sold under BE-3178, and the male parent is a selected seed-raised individual ofNepenthes‘Viking’.Source:A random selection from a huge number of different clones out of microprop.Photo notes:The nursery shots shown here are of the same clone as plants shipped. We have tested it from 12 - 32 deg. C (54 - 90 deg. F), although it will tolerate temperatures outside this range.
