Meet Sabo

A small cactus who loves noticing how plants change, and the face of GreenerThumbAI’s plant assistant.

Who Sabo is

Sabo takes its name from saboten, the Japanese word for cactus. It lives in a terracotta pot on a sunny windowsill and grows slowly, the way cacti do. Sabo is a learner rather than an expert: it checks the soil before watering, notices a new root, writes things down and asks questions when it is unsure.

You will meet Sabo when something starts or finishes: welcoming you, cheering a saved growth entry or a finished lesson, and keeping an empty list company until your first plant arrives. It stays out of the way on reference pages, and never stands in for a photo of a real plant.

What Sabo does as your assistant

  • Answers plant questions from the plant reference. Answers cite the reference passages they use, so you can check them.
  • Looks at your plant only when you choose one. Then it can use that plant’s details and recent logs; otherwise it sees only your question.
  • Suggests; you decide. Nothing Sabo drafts is saved to your collection until you review and save it.
  • Runs on Ollama Cloud. Sabo's answers come from a model hosted by Ollama, an outside company, guided by instructions and plant-reference passages we supply. We do not keep your conversations; Ollama may keep what it receives under its own policy. The privacy notice has the details.
