Description

Returning for June 2025 after 9 months! As the photos and videos show, there’s a lot of variation between individuals appearing out this cross. They are all spectacular and large, with peristomes that generally remain flared and roll back only a little as the pitchers age. The pitcher bodies have a wonderful soft furry texture, much like N. veitchii. This item differs from BE-3700 in that the male parent of BE-3700 is a lowland variety of N. veitchii, but the male parent of this item is a Bario highland form. It can therefore be expected to be more tolerant of cooler temperatures than BE-3700.Last returned:June 2025History:First introduced in Aug 2008.Origin:Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics. The female parent is the superb cultivar of N. robcantleyi, called Nepenthes ‘Queen of Hearts’, which has been exhibited worldwide many times, and the male parent is a handsome striped form of N. veitchii, selected from amongst the Bario form of the species sold under BE-3205.Source:A random selection from a large number of different clones.Photo notes:Photos are of representative clones and may not be identical to plants shipped. The last photos in the series show plants of typical sale sizes in order of size S, M & L (when available).Climate:Highland. We grow it between about 26 deg. C (80 deg. F) in the daytime, down to 12 deg. C (54 deg. F) at night, although it will tolerate temperatures outside this range.
