Description

Updated for Feb 2026 Originating from Sumatra, Indonesia, this species grows in a range of altitudes between about 300m and 1,100m, making it tolerant of a wide range of temperatures. It grows terrestrially in submontane forests, so in order to be able to flower successfully, it has to climb to the forest canopy. This means it’s a fast grower, resulting in soft leaves and pitchers, since, in general, the harder a species is, the slower it grows. This item was supplied to us as a single clone, and as expected, we find it to be extremely vigorous. So far, we’ve not grown one out to see mature pitchers, so we can only show juvenile plants and pitchers here, but it’s clearly a nice, colourful clone.History:First introduced in Sept 2016.Origin:HorticulturalSource:From a single clone.Photo notes:Plants shipped are of the same clone as shown in these photos. The last photos in the series show plants of typical sale sizes in order of size S, M & L (when available). We have tested it from 12 - 32 deg. C (54 - 90 deg. F), although it will tolerate temperatures outside this range. Now even better! As of Jan 2025, the quality of all items grown in our indoor facilities has been further improved. This includes all items classified as 'lowland,' as well as some intermediate growing items. Plants in our indoor facilities are now grown under extremely hard conditions, with high light levels and have super-tough leaves, making them much easier to establish.
