This classic swamp-dwelling species will develop basal rosettes when larger, giving the appearance of a carpet of pitchers with few or no leaves. It grows easily in acidic media, but needs warm temperatures, perpetually moist roots and high humidity. This is a carefully selected clone with the pitcher body colouration of N. ampullaria ‘Harlequin’, and a peristome that is mostly a pure striking lime-green, but showing occasional maroon stripes in high light levels, as can be seen from the photos. We’ve given it the cultivar nameNepenthes ampullaria‘Lime Twist’.History:First introduced in June 2011.Origin:Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics.Source:From a single carefully selected clone.Photo notes:Photos are of the actual clone shipped. The last photos in the series show plants of typical sale sizes in order of size Small, Medium & Large (when available).
.
Climate:Lowland. We find it grows best between about 32 deg. C (90 deg. F) in the daytime, down to 24 deg. C (75 deg. F) at night, although it will tolerate temperatures outside this range.
Now even better! As of Jan 2025, the quality of all items grown in our indoor facilities has been further improved. This includes all items classified as 'lowland,' such as this one. Items in our indoor facilities are now grown under extremely hard conditions, with high light levels and have super-tough leaves, making them much easier to establish.
