A striking highland pitcher plant endemic to Palawan, *Nepenthes mira* is notable for its restricted range and association with other Bornean species. It is a relatively recently described species with no known natural hybrids.

History & etymology
Formally described by Matthew Jebb and Martin Cheek in 1998. The epithet *mira* comes from the Latin word *mirus*, meaning 'wonderful'.
