A tropical pitcher plant notable for its native range in Halmahera, Indonesia, and its association with ultramafic substrates. While initially thought to be confined to a specific concession area, recent assessments indicate it is common in the Weda Bay region.

History & etymology
The type specimen was previously regarded as an aberrant representative of *N. danseri*.
