Nepenthes *copelandii* is a pitcher plant species native to the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is part of the informal 'N. alata group' and is known for its wide altitudinal range across the island.

Distribution & habitat
This species is native to the island of Mindanao in the Philippines, originally found near Mount Apo and Mount Pasian. It has been discovered on numerous peaks throughout Mindanao and may also be present on the nearby island of Camiguin. It exhibits a wide altitudinal distribution ranging from 1100 to 2400 meters above sea level.
Cultivation notes
The Mount Apo form has been cultivated by Australian hobbyists since the early 1980s. Plants from Mount Pasian entered cultivation much later.
History & etymology
The species was named after Edwin Copeland. Taxonomically, it belongs to the informal 'N. alata group,' which includes several other species united by morphological traits like winged petioles and specific pitcher structures. Some taxonomists, such as Jan Schlauer, treat *N. copelandii* as a heterotypic synonym of *N. alata*.
